Fair, Just, and Legal

Sooner or later, you will have a chance to see the difference between what is fair to you, what is just to most, and what is legal for all.

Fair
By your own personal standards, you have a line that separates what is Fair from what is not. What you see as fair is a principle that you quietly live by, but others may or may not see. Every decision you make, every encounter you meet, every occurrence you witness has its verdict in your mind, fair or not fair.

Just
There once was a time, before sophisticated laws or written statures, citizens of an area would use a Just system of settling differences. It was usually unwritten rules that made sense to the majority and if there were ever a doubt, a wise person (normally an elder) in the area would settle the disagreement. This mentality still exists today, where a group of people with similar ideas, beliefs, and intentions has drawn a line to separate what is right from what is wrong or just from what is unjust. Here, just is considered what is righteous and honorable of high moral standards to those people.

Legal
Now we come to the Legal, whereas the just and fair policies are opinionated, the legal system is not. Although, it has loopholes, its base is on measurable values with measurable penalties. It is the brick wall and is seldom left to opinion, though it often faces controversy. To govern a mass of people, laws are necessary. It is to keep order and equality to sustain a civil act on a governed land.

The reason I bring this up is to head off those arguments of what your opinion of fair may be or what you feel just may be.

We all have our level of what is fair, but it may not be the same level to someone else. This is normal because fairness is a personal belief with many different levels and variables. You cannot expect what is fair to you to be fair to someone else. Do not make demands according to your personal fairness when others are involved. You may find yourself standing alone and in defeat.

You may collect several similar thinking supporters that agree on what is just and this makes a valid argument or demand for legal alignment. There is a system in which this can be obtained; this system is called legislation—so vote. However, until a just belief becomes a a written law or ordinance, it is still just an opinion.

Don't get it twisted!!!!
